More than twenty-five years into practice, osteopathy continues to be a compelling way for me to understand the whole person and support health across all stages of life. The body has a remarkable capacity for recovery and adaptation, and osteopathy plays an important role in optimising this potential, regardless of age, to improve overall quality of life.
My interest in the human body began early, shaped by a background in sport and years of playing the violin. These experiences fostered an appreciation for posture, movement, and the relationship between optimal body function and everyday activity.
I completed my five-year osteopathic training at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in 1998 and have been practising as an osteopath since then. I am registered with the Osteopathic Council of Ireland and work with people of all ages, adapting treatment to each individual and their specific presentation.
From the early stages of my career, I developed a particular interest in working with infants and children. Early collaboration with an experienced paediatric osteopath deepened my understanding of how the birth process can create strains that may influence later body function. This interest expanded through firsthand experience supporting pregnancy, birth, and early childhood, reinforcing the importance of free and balanced movement across all body structures.
My work with babies and mothers has included supporting families experiencing challenges related to feeding and tongue-tie, and I continue to bring this perspective into my clinical practice with sensitivity and care.
Alongside general osteopathic practice, my ongoing professional interests include:
-
the relationship between the digestive system and the musculoskeletal framework
-
the interconnection between body and mind
I regularly undertake postgraduate education in Ireland, the UK, Europe, Australia, and the USA, integrating new learning into practical, patient-centred care.Β
